Welcome to iPhone Unlocked. We see you found us via www.google.com searching for iphone anatomy. Dedicated hackers have recently figured out how to unlock the iPhone to work on any GSM carrier (T-mobile in the US, and most every European carrier). We are not selling unlocked iPhones at this time. Please be careful if you decide to buy an unlocked iPhone, since the market is likely to draw a lot of shady characters.

iPhone Dissected: unexpected anatomy

As I mentioned before, iFixit.com has documented their successful iPhone Disassembly.

I was suprised to learn that it does in fact have a SIM card, so my previous information was wrong. Hopefully this means that you’ll be able to use your iPhone on another use GSM provider like T-mobile (provided there are other US EDGE providers). I can’t see any justification for keeping the iPhone locked since it isn’t carrier subsidized, other than compatibility issues (visual voicemail, etc)

The iPhone will not be able to be unlocked for use with another carrier other than AT&T, this is due to the multi-year agreement between Apple and AT&T…sorry kids…use on AT&T network only.

Hey, Adrienne. Do you represent Apple or AT&T?
    Don’t harsh our buzz.
