iPhone Refund After Price Cut

Apple’s decision to cut the price of the iPhone by $200 is angering and frustrating a lot of early adopters. Threads on various cell phone and iPhone forums speak to the breadth of the discontent and Apple’s own forums have been overwhelmed with traffic, even as moderators try to delete threads for people demanding refunds.

There is some good news. People who purchased their iPhone at an Apple Store (including their online store) within the last 14 days are eligible for a $200 refund in the form of an Apple gift card under Apple’s standard price protection guarantee. There are also reports of people who purchased their phones a month or more ago negotiating and receiving similar refunds of at least $150.  I don’t know what people who bought their iPhone from AT&T will have to do.

I haven’t tried myself yet, but please post your own experiences in the comments, especially if you try getting a refund from AT&T.
